Potato Processing Operator

Location: Booth Ag – Geurie, Central West NSW
Employment Type: Full-time

About Us

Booth Ag is a family-owned agribusiness specialising in fresh potato processing. Alongside our potato enterprise, we also manage corn, grain, and livestock operations that work together to support a sustainable farming system.

We’re proud to supply a consistent, high-quality product to our wholesale customers through safe, efficient, and reliable production practices.

We’ve created a new role for a hands-on, reliable person to help coordinate our processing team and operate our potato line — from washing and grading through to loading trucks for delivery.

About the Role

As a Potato Processing Operator, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of our production line, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency at every stage.

You’ll work closely with three teams:

  • Field Team – who harvest and deliver the potatoes to the processing line.

  • Processing Team – who remove any produce that doesn’t meet specifications.

  • Truck Team – who contact you the night before to confirm which farm to collect from.

You’ll receive on-the-job training to operate and maintain basic equipment, uphold food safety and quality standards, and ensure that trucks are filled and dispatched on time. Major mechanical repairs are handled by our maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor potato processing equipment (grading and washing).

  • Inspect produce for quality, size, and consistency.

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all work areas.

  • Follow food safety and workplace health and safety procedures.

  • Report any faults, issues, or safety concerns promptly.

  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production and delivery targets.

Skills and Attributes

  • No prior experience required – full on-farm training provided.

  • Mechanically minded and willing to learn equipment operation.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing a quality product.

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a small, supportive team.

  • Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on, active work, including standing for extended periods.

  • Basic understanding of workplace safety and hygiene practices.

Requirements

  • Current driver’s licence and reliable transport.

  • Willingness to complete on-farm training (food safety and equipment operation).

  • Ability to work flexible hours during busy periods.

Optional:
Holding a Heavy Combination (HC) truck licence would be an advantage – but not essential.

Why Work With Us

  • Be part of a supportive, down-to-earth family business.

  • Hands-on, active work with real variety in your day.

  • Learn and develop valuable skills in food production and machinery operation.

  • Stable, long-term employment.

  • Late-model Toyota Hilux (space-cab) provided.

  • Guaranteed 50-hour work week.

  • Permanent role

We operate up to 13 days per fortnight, rotating weekends so everyone gets time off. While we’re busy for around eight months of the year, we offer flexibility for an extended break during the off-season — ideal for family time or a well-earned rest.
